Forgive me

Oh, how I’ve neglected my blog. And forgotten it when life got too crazy. Yet, when I revisit it, it instantly makes me smile. I’d like to try and blog again. Maybe I’ll post up some photos of the food I’ve cooked and the goodies I’ve baked. The first step is to find that camera USB cord…

Layout #2

I designed and uploaded a new layout! The character on it, Bob Blob is a result of my first attempts at illustrating with the pen tool in Photoshop. I like the playful, colorful style and how it’s a little wider than the last one.

I’m hoping to practice designing more characters in the future!

Mariah Carey Christmas Set

I made a quick Christmas avatar and signature for a forum challenge and just thought I would share it here too.

The Help

Not only do I want this to be a photography blog, but I think I’d also like to write about the books I’ve read. It’d be nice to look back at all the novels I’ve read in the year. Hopefully it’ll motivate me to read more!

About a month ago, I finished ‘The Help’ by Kathryn Stockett. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I really liked the book. It kept me interested and I found the characters so interesting. I wanted to know what would happen to them, but unfortunately the ending felt inconclusive. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen to the maids.

Generally, I think books are much better than the movies because they have so much more feeling and emotion in each page. But the one advantage of Hollywood movies is that they have a happy ending at the end. Its so disappointing reading books that end sadly or in an unfinished manner.

The Kite Runner

I recently finished reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and the book was absolutely remarkable. The story was exciting, captivating and emotional. It made me laugh, cringe and cry. Most of all, it was difficult to put the book down.

When the main character’s father grows older and becomes sick and close to death, I started to feel sad about my own parents and how they will eventually have to reach that stage in their lives. I don’t think I would be able to cope with it very well. Already I see little signs of old age. After reading the book, I feel so motivated to spend more time with them and to not take them for granted. I’m thankful that this book was able to open my eyes and push me to become a better person, and I hope this motivation stays with me for a long time.

Lily Cole Blend

Here’s the Lily Cole blend I made for Freezy-Challs, challenge 9.

Rihanna Icons

Here are my Rihanna avatar entries for challenge 10 at freezy-challs. I never make avatars, so I’m hoping to practise more!

Piggy Explores is Officially Open

I have finally figured out how to fix my WordPress errors and my widgets work now. Yay! So this blog is now open for business.

This layout is my first attempt at “illustrating” using Photoshop. It is a drawing of Elliot and I going on our first trip to Asia together.

I want to extend a warm thank you to Misaki at for hosting this site and being so patient while I learned WordPress for the first time and relearned some html/css! I am very proud and excited to be hosted here.
